It is to be noted that no female cops were present at the time when the incident took place and two male cops forcefully pushed the pregnant lady into the Police van.
Digital Desk: A complaint has been raised against the Hatigaon Police for torturing a two-month pregnant lady in Guwahati.
The incident took place when a night patrolling team came out to have a cup of tea from the Bohagi path of Hatigaon area and abducted the husband and wife.
It is to be noted that no female cops were present at the time when the incident took place and two male cops forcefully pushed the pregnant lady into the Police van.
In this severe cold weather both the wife and husband were made to sit on a bench for the whole night in the police station.
“The lady kept saying again and again that she was pregnant, but the cops shouted and scolded her showing their manhood.”
The husband of the lady was beaten by the police for questioning “Why are we brought to the police station?”
“The lady has given a statement that the cop named Rahul Gogoi had slapped her husband.”
The lady was suffering from severe back pain and due to the severe cold weather, the lady fainted and was taken to the hospital at 06:00 am in the morning.
As per the sources, following the incident, the couple was freed by the police but they have not returned their phones.
It may be mentioned that a mail was sent to the DGP and an FIR has been given to the Police Commissioner of Guwahati City into the matter.
