Cave Man: Exhausted of modern life and paying rent, a man lives in cave for 16 years!
He spent his 16 years in a cave because he was exhausted from modern life and paying rent...

Digital Desk: Shellabarger has been dwelling in caves since the mid-1990s. Again in 2009, he decided to relocate permanently to the cave and he decided to give up all of his possessions.

If you don't own a home for yourself or live outside of your hometown, the mortgage payment is an uncontrollable monthly expense. And it is unavoidable for students, salaried professionals, or people from all walks of life.

Due to various factors, modern life necessitates high rent in cities. So, for that reason, some can pay it easily, and others must find alternative solutions. Well, there is a solution who is the homeless person can avoid paying rent by living peacefully with a cover over their head.

No one can answer this question better than Daniel Shellabarger, after becoming tired of paying rent a former home dweller who spent 16 years living in a cave.

Shellabarger, also known as Suelo, managed to live in a cave by himself for 16 years without using any currency.

When they can't afford the rent, most people move to a cheaper apartment or a hostel. Shellabarger, on the other hand, lived out a modern caveman's fantasy in Moab, Utah.

That wasn't the only thing he changed about himself. He abandoned everything modern and lived like a caveman before bowing down to cash. He stayed over natural vegetation and items gathered from the road. Even so, he had to return to civilization in 2016 to start caring for his ageing parents.

Now he is a well-known face, having appeared in magazines and in an episode of Only Human, where he said: "I've been sleeping in caves longer than I've lived without money probably since the mid-90s. When I had a respectable job in town, I decided I didn't want to pay and live out beyond any longer. When Suelo lived full-time in a cave without money, he only had a few primitive possessions," he clarified it.

"I took money out of my pocket and went to a phone booth in Pennsylvania and I put it on top and I figured somebody will take it," he said of the present time he decided to cease using money.

"When I did it, it felt extremely mystical to me; I walked out and it felt like warm water was pouring over my head. And I just felt like, "Wow, I feel completely comfortable and completely free. I feel like I'm at home, no matter where I am", he continued to say.

Furthermore, he asserted that he received no government assistance while residing in his cave.

When he was asked how he moved into a cave and lived alone, then he mentioned that he was severely depressed with modern life. So, he decided to live a peaceful and no rentfull life for his entire life.
