London: Marriage is a life-long commitment. No couple would wish to see their marriage crumble down to the point of divorce. An unbreakable dead-lock due to non-compatibility, break-up followed with the mental stress a couple witnesses during the divorce procedure, cannot be explained in words.
Still, an expensive divorce news is making the rounds of social media and none can stop chatting about it.
Touted as the most expensive divorce settlement in the history of Britain, the ruler of Dubai has been ordered to pay $734 million to his ex-wife and children as alimony.

The court has ordered Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to pay 251.5 million pounds (Rs25,20,56,42,966 in Indian Currency) to his sixth wife, Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein and her kids with her ex-husband Al Jalila, 14, and Zayed, 9, with a bank surety of 290 pounds (Rs 29,06,03,20,000 in Indian Currency).
The bank surety also includes settlement of 11 million pounds a year as security costs for Princess Haya and the children while they are minors.
The court has further ordered the family taking refuge in UK, to be provided with “tight security”, especially from the Sheikh.
Princes Haya, 47, fled to UK, with her kids in 2019 and since then has been applying for the custody of her children through British courts.

“Was terrified after I learnt that my ex-husband has ordered the forced return of my children to the Gulf emirate,” said Princes Haya while narrating the ordeal she underwent during her married life.
An avid equestrian who even participated at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Princess Haya is the daughter of the late Jordanian King Hussein.
The divorce settlement also includes a holiday budget of 5.1 million pounds, annual sum of 450,000 pounds for the children’s staff and around 275,000 pounds for their pet animals that includes two ponies and a horse.
