The 2023 Chaar Dham Yatra Highway to Badrinath closed as a result of debris coming from the hill near Bazpur within the Kotwali Chamoli area, the Badrinath highway has also been closed, according to Chamoli Police. On Friday, Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, gave pilgrims the advice to make travel arrangements only after passing all medical tests, including the Covid-19 test. The state administration, according to the chief minister, has drawn out a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in several languages, and pilgrims this year must follow it.
The Char Dham Yatra has officially begun with the ceremonial opening of the portals of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath Dham, the four holiest places in the country.
The state police have also mobilised measures to provide all assistance to the pilgrims and aid them in reaching the holy locations as the yatra has begun. On Thursday morning, the first puja was held in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi when the gates of Badrinath Dham opened for pilgrims.
Vedic hymns (shlokas) were being chanted as the Badrinath Dham portals opened. For the ceremonial opening of the sacred shrine, thousands of worshippers were present. At four in the morning on Thursday, the doors were opened. The south gate was used to enter the temple grounds with Kuber-ji, Shri Uddav-ji, and Gadu Ghada, officials said.
