Income Tax Dept surveys BBC offices for second day over ‘diversion of earnings’
According to officials, the goal of the polls on BBC is to examine into "manipulation of prices for unlawful benefits, including tax advantages".

Digital Desk: The Income Tax Department's investigation of the BBC offices resumed for the second day on Wednesday, with the tax department exploring "deliberate non-compliance with the transfer pricing regulations" and its "huge diversion of profits".

According to officials, the goal of the polls on BBC is to examine into "manipulation of prices for unlawful benefits, including tax advantages".

The move by the I-T Department comes just weeks after the British broadcaster aired a programme on the 2002 Gujarat riots titled "India: The Modi Question" on January 17.

The tax department's decision prompted a massive political discussion, with opposition parties labelling it "undemocratic" and the BJP branding the broadcaster the "most Bhrasht Bakwaas Company (corrupt and garbage corporation)".
