    Magnitude 5.4 earthquake jolts Kashmir, tremors felt in Delhi-NCR

    Initial reports indicate that the earthquake struck in the Doda area of Jammu and Kashmir at a depth of 30 km, 18 kilometres away from the village of Gandoh Bhalessa.

    Digital Desk: The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that an earthquake of a magnitude of 5.4 shook eastern Kashmir on Tuesday at around 1:30 pm.

    Initial reports indicate that the earthquake struck in the Doda area of Jammu and Kashmir at a depth of 30 km, 18 kilometres away from the village of Gandoh Bhalessa.

    Jammu and Kashmir saw severe tremors. Other areas of north India felt the shaking, including the capital city of Delhi and its surrounding regions.

    According to a resident of Srinagar, "The earthquake scared schoolchildren. Shop patrons ran out. It was horrible. Compared to last week's tremors, this one was more intense."
