'Ramcharitmanas was written in mosque': RJD MLA's bizarre statement sparks row

"Perhaps Ramayana was written in the mosque because Nitish Kumar was admitted to Lalu Prasad's herdsman school," he hypothesised.

Digital Desk: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)
leader and MLA Ritlal Yadav on Thursday ignited a fresh political crisis with
    his controversial comments regarding 'Ramcharitmanas'.

color:black">Yadav questioned during a debate over the Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP) and Hindutva, "Was Hindutva not in danger when Ramcharitmanas was
    being written inside a mosque?"

color:black">Yadav, a Danapur RJD MLA, has been charged with many counts of
murder and knapping. He didn't stop there, saying, "Wasn't Hindutva in
danger when the Mughals were ruling?"

color:black">In response to Yadav's assertions, BJP spokesperson Arvind Kumar
Singh said, "Everybody knows where Ramcharitmans was written by
    Tulsidas."

"Perhaps Ramayana was written in the mosque
because Nitish Kumar was admitted to Lalu Prasad's herdsman school," he
    hypothesised.

This incident occurred in the aftermath of a
similar scandal involving Chandra Shekhar, another RJD legislator and cabinet
minister in Nitish Kumar's government. Shekhar made controversial remarks
regarding Ramcharitmanas earlier this year, claiming that the Ramayana-based
Hindu sacred book "spreads hatred in society."

    "Ramcharitmanas was opposed because he
believed that educating the lower classes would turn them poisonous.
"Books like Ramcharitmanas, Manusmriti, and MS Golwalkar's Bunch of
Thoughts created a social divide," the minister said at the Nalanda Open
University convocation in January this year.
