The massive shipment of Yaba tablets was confiscated based on precise intelligence information about its transportation in a white Alto Car along Katigorah-Kalain Road on National Highway.
Digital Desk: As many as 17,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 1.70 crores were seized near India-Bangladesh International Border in Assam on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Border Security Force (BSF) reportedly found the Yaba pills in the Cachar district.
The BSF reported that 89 little packages contained the pills (68 blue and 21 black colour packets). One person was apprehended in connection with the seizure.
The force further stated that one Yaba tablet is thought to cost Rs. 1,000.

According to the security force, a coordinated operation was organized by BSF Field Intelligence Unit Silchar, Karimganj Customs Division, and the operative team of BSF's 1st Battalion.
The suspected Alto Car was intercepted near the Hilara Railway crossing on the Katigorah-Kalain route at 1.20 a.m. on Wednesday (NH-6). According to the BSF, during the investigation of the Alto Car, suspected Yaba Tablets stashed within the left door (rear side) were recovered and seized.
"The driver of the vehicle was also apprehended," it claimed.
Karimganj Customs Division has taken custody of the apprehended person and the seized things for further legal action. (with inputs from ANI)
