    On Friday, at least 11
students from Sonitpur Jatiya Vidyalaya in Tezpur fainted inside their
classrooms due to the blazing heat, with day temperatures in the state
    continuing (4-6) °C above normal.

According to reports, the situation became
chaotic when students in classes VII and VIII complained of discomfort and
    fainted during an afternoon class.

All of the students who fainted were transported
to Tezpur's Gate Hospital and given first assistance.

The students' health was described as stable. The
incident was reported to the children's parents.

    Earlier, the India Meteorological Department
(IMD) anticipated that dry weather conditions will dominate in Guwahati and its
surroundings for a few days, with day temperatures continuing (4-6)°C above
    normal.

    However, isolated pockets
of light rain are likely in Assam and other portions of the Northeastern areas.
