    Digital Desk: BJP MLA and Assam’s former minister Ranjit Dutta’s son has reportedly been detained by the police in the Jorabat area of Guwahati for driving under the influence of alcohol on Friday night.

    As per sources, the BJP leader’s son has been identified as Deepjyoti Dutta who was accompanied by two others as they were detained by the police.

    During one of the routine checks by the traffic branch, they were intercepted.

    Reportedly, the police found that all of them had alcohol levels of over 120 on the breathalyzer after checking if they were under the influence of alcohol.

    Additionally, their car has been kept in the Jorabat Police Outpost.

    The car was a Toyota Fortuner with the license plate AS32A3333, registered in Deepjyoti's name, and it had stickers from the BJP's youth wing, BJYM.

    The three were reportedly traveling from Nagaon's side to Guwahati at a very high speed.
