Notably, the Assam Civilian Awards are given out in a manner akin to those of the highest honors awarded by the Indian government, the Bharat Ratna and Padma Awards. The Award Committee decides how many prizes to give out in each category each year.

The Assam government has congratulated and thanked every one of the recipients. The prizes will be given out on February 10 with the Vice President of India as the Chief Guest, according to Himanta Biswa Sarma.

While addressing media persons, the Assam CM said, "We will confer the civilian awards of Assam on February 10. The Assam Governor will present at the occasion. The Vice President of India will attend the program as a Chief Guest."

CM Sarma further added, "The Assam Baibhav Award is the highest state civilian award. In the first year, we gave the Assam Baibhav award to Ratan Tata and last year we gave the award to Tapan Saikia. This time, the Assam government has selected former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ranjan Gogoi for the Assam Baibhav award.”
