Assam Mechanic Turns Swift Car into Lamborghini

Karimganj: Well, owning a Lamborghini may be a dream for many people, but a few are there in the Country that makes it possible to own it.

Nurul Haque, a motor mechanic from Karimganj District has made it possible by modifying an old Maruti Swift car into a sports car that looks like a model of Italian luxury car Lamborghini with its local limited resource.

According to Haque, a 30 year old who wished to drive a sports car like Lamborghini has spent 6.2 lakhs in the project.

Haque said, “It was my dream to make and drive such a luxury car. I love Lamborghini cars and finally, I have modified an old Maruti Swift car into my dream car.”

A fan of Fast and Furious movies, Haque was a car mechanic and owns a garage named “N Maruti Car Care” in the Bhanga area of Karimganj district. Last year’s lockdown forced him to sit at home with no work. That’s when he started toying with the idea of building his own Lamborghini replica.

Nurul Haque said, “For the past eight months, I have been engaged in my project. The total expenditure of my project is around Rs 6.2 lakh. First I brought a second-hand Maruti Swift and removed its body. I started building parts of a Lamborghini model by watching YouTube videos.”

“But I didn’t realize that it would be a costly affair, from buying the engine to giving it the final shape it cost me a lot. I am not sure if even developing such a replica is legal. I want to drive the car across the state and I hope the police won’t arrest me and seized my car.” Haque added.

After posting the picture of the Lamborghini replica on social media Haque has become a local celebrity.

Moreover, Haque added that I am willing to sell this car but it has to someone who understands the value of this model. Only a sports enthusiast can relate to my passion.

Speaking about his future planning Haque said, “I am planning to make a customized replica of Ferrari soon but it all depends on my Lamborghini experience.”

“If the local administration grants me the permission to ride this car, I am going to make more of this model” Haque added.
