    Assam government adds four new holidays to the annual list

    Digital Desk: The new year 2022 comes with new additions to the state's holiday list. Assam government has added four new holidays to the 2022 annual holiday list. 





    The new holidays have been added to June and July 2022. The General Administration of Assam initiated the decision to add these four news holidays to the annual list. 





    The General Administration of Assam has announced June 20, June 30, July 10 and July 13 as holidays this year's revised list. 





    June 20, 2022: The administration has added this to the holiday list of 2022 to commemorate the death anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha. Apart from being a well-known poet, playwright, musician, dancer and performer from Assam, Bishnu Prasad Rabha owns tremendous pride in being a prominent freedom fighter of Assam.

    June 30, 2022: Assam government has declared June 30, 2022, as a holiday on the occasion of Hul Diwas. 





    July 10, 2022: This day has been added to the annual holiday list, 2022, to observe the day as Eid-uz-Zuha. This day is celebrated as one of the most important festivals by Muslims all over the nation.





    July 13, 2022: The government has announced this day as a holiday to mark Nepali poet Bhanubhakta Acharya's birth anniversary. He was the foremost writer to translate the great epic Ramayana from Sanskrit to Nepali. 





    The rest of the holidays will remain the same as the previous year's holiday list.
