Chirang had the lowest pass rate of all the 32 districts in Assam in 2022, at 34.27 percent, but this year, it outperformed them all with an 88.68 percent mark.

Digital Desk: The total pass rate in Assam has been reported at 72.69 percent as the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination have been released on Monday.

Chirang district has recorded the highest pass rate in the state. A total of 4,15,324 candidates appeared in the board examination.

Notably, the first division was obtained by 94,913 students, the second division by 1,48,573 students, and third division by 58,394 students out of the total.

A total of 8,517 students earned distinction marks in the exams, while 18,653 students achieved star marks.

Although there were several issues around the HSLC examinations this year due to reports of paper leaks at various examination centres throughout the state, the pass rate crossed the previous year's record as the percentage in 2022 was 56.49 percent.

Chirang had the lowest pass rate of all the 32 districts in Assam in 2022, at 34.27 percent, but this year, it outperformed them all with an 88.68 percent mark.

When it comes to recording pass percentages, Sivasagar and Dima Hasao districts have maintained their top three rankings. Sivasagar has recorded 88.40 percent compared to 81.17 percent in 2022, while Dima Hasao has achieved 88.12 percent compared to 81.31 percent in 2022.

Moreover, as a result of its 77.18 percent pass rate, the Kamrup (Metropolitan) district, on the other hand, has been placed in 12th place overall.

Focusing on the district with the worst performance, Goalpara has the lowest pass percentage at 59.80 percent, which is slightly higher than the mark of 41.20 percent recorded last year. This has little bearing on the district's performance, which has continued to be the lowest for the past two years, placing it first from the bottom.
