Digital Desk: Amid Durga Puja celebrations in Assam, a unique pandal has been erected in Assam's Nagaon district.
It should be noted that the Shani Mandir Durga Puja Sangha in Nagaon, Assam, decorated their Durga Puja pandal using coins.
The Rs 10 denomination coins have been placed on the top, followed by the Rs 1, 2, and 5 denominations at the bottom.
The pandal has a striking appearance due to the contrast of gold and silver.
This arrangement was made with coins in all denominations, including Rs 2, Rs 5, and Rs 10. In one pandal, the puja organizers used coins worth Rs. 11 lakh.
Coins that were received as donations in the previous year were used for the creation of this year's pandal. Additionally, some 10 lakh rupees worth of coins were gathered from the State Bank of India for the decorations.
Raju Chowdhury, an artist, says, "...We have collected Rupee 1, Rs 2, Rs 5, and Rs 10 coins and stuck them on plywood... We have decorated the whole pandal with this...The coins are approximately worth Rs 11 lakh...We have collected the coins from the state bank and small shopkeepers..."
Coins are stuck on plyboards in a manner wherein the golden colored coins are placed on the upper part of the setup and the silver coins are placed in the lower part.
The organizers said that coins have been used to decorate the interiors of the pandals as well.
