    Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a significant development for Northeast India's infrastructure. A 20-kilometer segment of National Highway No. 37 is set to undergo a transformation into a four-lane highway. 

    CM Sarma shared the news on social media, revealing the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' approval of Rs 957 crore for this project. 

    "Just received the excellent news that @MORTHIndia has sanctioned Rs 957 cr to convert the 20 km long stretch on NH 37 - from Silchar to Budha Nagar- into a 4 lane highway," said the Assam CM. 

    The conversion aims to enhance connectivity in Assam's Barak Valley, fostering stronger links with neighboring states. This move reflects a commitment to regional development, promising improved transportation and economic growth in the Northeast.

    "Once completed, this will augment connectivity between Barak Valley and the States of Mizoram, Manipur, and Meghalaya," he stated. 

    The Assam CM also extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for transforming the infrastructure of the Northeast. 

    "My immense gratitude to our Government led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji for its relentless efforts in transforming infrastructure across the North East," he said.
