Ishan Kishan breaks silence on BCCI contracts about the Ranji Trophy controversy
Due to mental exhaustion, Ishan withdrew from the South Africa series.........

Digital desk: In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match on Thursday, the Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan looked excellent. In the game's shortest format, Ishan demonstrated his full potential by scoring 69 runs off of just 34 balls, setting up the Mumbai Indians for a successful 197-run chase. After the game, Ishan spoke with the media about the difficult weeks leading up to the IPL, when his future with the Indian squad was in question.

Due to mental exhaustion, Ishan withdrew from the South Africa series and, in the months that followed, apparently did not put himself up for international selection. Against the advice of BCCI secretary Jay Shah and head coach Rahul Dravid, he chose to train for the Indian Premier League (IPL) alongside MI captain Hardik Pandya.

Opening up on the controversy, Ishan said "I was practicing. When I took time off from the game, people were talking a lot. Many things came on social media. But you should also realize that many things are not in the hands of the players."

Over the break, Ishan has significantly changed how he views things. He provided a thorough understanding of how he thought, particularly about managing the difficult times in his professional life.

While speaking to the press Ishan further added, "The only thing you can do is utilise the time properly. Also, the mindset to think about the previous Ishan Kishan, I would never leave a delivery in the first two overs even if they are bowling well. With time I have learned that even 20 overs is a big game, you can take your time and you can go ahead. Even though we have lost matches, we want to work together as a team. Changes have come like even if I am not performing and if I know someone else is not performing, I talk to them. I want to know what they are thinking. So these are things which helped me in the break."
