Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut on Sunday for Mumbai Indians (MI) against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). After that, Sachin made a revelation, saying till now he hasn't gone and watched his son play.
He added that he watched his son's IPL debut from the safety of the dressing room so that Arjun wouldn't feel uneasy when he saw his father on the big screen.
The legendary cricketer admitted that watching him play while in the changing room was a completely new experience for him. "I had never actually gone to see him play before, so this was a new experience for me. I just wanted him to have the freedom to go out and express himself and do whatever he wanted to," in a video posted by the
IPL on Twitter, Sachin stated."
Master Blaster said, "I sat in the dressing room because I didn't want to let him get distracted from his plans and start looking at the mega screen here only to realise that I was watching there, so I was inside."
He added, "It is a different feeling because 2008 was my first season, and 16 years later, he is playing for the same team, not bad." Arjun Tendulkar, a debutant listened to him intently as seated next to his father.
Sachin Tendulkar has been associated with MI since the IPL's start in 2008, and his son is now a member of the same franchise 16 years later. Arjun also talked about his MI debut, saying, "It was a great moment, It is always special to play for the team I have supported since 2008, It was nice to get the cap from the captain of MI and the team."
In his first game against KKR, Arjun, who was a pacer for Mumbai, only bowled two overs. With an economy of 8.50 against KKR, he failed to pick up any wickets and gave 17 runs. In the game, MI defeated KKR to earn their second win of the 16th IPL season.
