Reportedly, Shubman batted for an hour at the nets, assisted by throwdown specialists in Motera, while the rest of the team arrived later in the day.

Shubman Gill trained in an exclusive batting session in Motera before noon on Thursday, when he took to the pitch for the first time since recovering from dengue fever.

Shubman faced left-arm throwdown expert Nuwan Seneviratne, who had flown from Delhi to Ahmedabad on Wednesday to ensure he was present at the training session, according to the PTI news agency.

Rizwan, the team medic, kept an eye on Gill as he began the training session with sprints and strides.

Shubman Gill missed India's first two World Cup matches after testing positive for dengue fever in the days leading up to the opening game against Australia in Chennai. Gill after receiving approval from the Indian cricket team's medical team, traversed for Ahmedabad on Wednesday. It remains to be seen whether Gill will be available for the major game against Pakistan at one of his favourite hunting grounds, the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Prior to India's opening match against Australia, captain Rohit Sharma stated that the team management would give Shubman Gill every opportunity to fully recover from his sickness before deciding on his availability.
