Digital Desk: Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli made it official on Thursday that he had passed the challenging Yo-Yo test administered as part of India's skill-enhancement camp in Alur in advance of the eagerly anticipated 2023 Asia Cup.

On Instagram, Kohli posted an amazing photo of himself lying on the ground with a big smile on his face, which he ascribed to having overcome the difficult task of beating the 17.1 standard set between the deadly cones.

He captioned it, "The happiness of finishing the yo yo test between the dreaded cones."

Along with Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami will all take fitness tests in Alur. These players were all rested after India's trip to the West Indies.

Shankar Basu, a strength and conditioning coach, introduced the Yo-Yo test to Indian cricket in 2017. Initially set at 16.1, the benchmark was later raised to 17.1. Players must complete this test by running between two sets of cones in the allotted amount of time, which is calculated by the coach using a beep.

The Indian Express claims that the National Cricket Academy's (NCA) trainers recommended a 13-day workout regimen for the players to follow while off the pitch. Prior to the Asia Cup, the objective was to make sure they stayed healthy and kept up their levels of fitness.

The program was divided into two parts, with a day of rest in between, and ran from August 9 to August 22. The emphasis was on strength and mobility, shoulder care, and glute muscles in addition to technical tasks. In addition, the players received instructions on how to exercise, walk, run, and swim while sleeping, eating, and exercising at the gym.

According to the reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wished to reduce the possibility of injuries, particularly in light of the fact that Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer all miraculously recovered from major wounds in time for the competition.
