Digital Desk: Star Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has made history by becoming the first Indian athlete to win a Diamond League competition. He finished off a remarkable performance in the final with a best throw of 88.4 meters. After winning the Olympic Gold Medal and World Championships silver, Chopra has now added another feather to his cap.

Following the event, Neeraj Chopra interacted with journalists when one of them inquired whether he had improved his spoken English. To this, the star athlete gave quite a straightforward reply.

"I know my English is not perfect but I try my best. It has improved a lot with talking to my coach. I know that athletics is a global sport and I want to reach everyone. I know that I can’t find a translator everywhere so I try my best," said the star athlete.

Neeraj Chopra also said that he would balance out his off-season commitments better this season, as it was a new experience for him last year after the glory at the Tokyo Olympics.

"Last year was a very new experience for me, balancing was difficult, but I learned from last season. This time, for the few commercial commitments, I will give dates in advance. When the training time comes, I will be fully focused on that ... So that the preparation is taken care of well," he added.

After winning the gold at the Tokyo Olympics, Neeraj Chopra has been on an incredible run of form. He returned to action in June 2022, setting the national mark with an 89.30m throw at the Paavo Nurmi Games. He later went on to become the first Indian to win a silver medal at the World Championships. However, he missed the Commonwealth Games 2022 due to a groin strain but has since returned in full glory.
