All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been selected as vice-captain of the team.
Digital Desk: Shikhar Dhawan will lead the Indian team in the forthcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies. This comes after the BCCI decided to rest several of its finest players, including Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rohit Sharma. Moreover, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, and Dinesh Karthik will also skip the series. Dhawan, who only plays in ODIs, led the team for the first time during the Sri Lankan tour last year while the Test specialists were in England.

The 16-member team for the West Indies tour includes Deepak Hooda, Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Avesh Khan. However, Gaikwad and Khan are out of the ODI team for the series in England that will begin on July 12. The selectors have also chosen Shubman Gill, who last participated in an ODI in December 2020.

The ODI series will begin later this month. The three matches will take place in Port of Spain. After the ODIs, India will play five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) against the West Indies in the Caribbean and the United States; the team for these matches has not yet been revealed.
Currently, Team India is playing against England in a multi-format series, with the final match scheduled for July 17.
