    UPI transactions not working, netizens claim several bank servers down

    Several customers reported having issues making UPI payments using well-known apps like Paytm, BHIM, PhonePe, and Google Pay.


    Digital Desk: There have been numerous reports of statewide bank server disruptions that have affected Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions. Social media platforms were flooded with reports from users detailing these disruptions.


    In addition, reports of continuous failures impacting UPI, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), and other banks were received by Downdetector, a website that tracks service problems.


    Several customers reported having issues making UPI payments using well-known apps like Paytm, BHIM, PhonePe, and Google Pay. Reports on the microblogging platform X date back about three to four hours, indicating that this problem has been ongoing for several hours. All of these reports point to a widespread outage that is disrupting UPI functionality, making it impossible for customers to utilize UPI-enabled apps to perform transactions or transfer funds.


    There have been reports of server problems when trying to make UPI payments from users of HDFC Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of Maharashtra, State Bank of India (SBI), Kotak Mahindra Bank, and other banks.


    Consumers have expressly reported running into issues with their individual banks' "Fund Transfer" features.


    Both the banks and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) have failed to recognize the continuous outage in spite of many user claims. The reason users are unable to make UPI payments using their bank accounts or the source of the problem is not explained in detail.

    Another Bank of Baroda account holder expressed, “Bank server is down.. I cannot receive funds in my account.. please look into the matter!”


    An ICICI bank holder stated, “@ICICIBank Due to server issue of icici bank i have received 3 time today fasttag and it's showing black listed khanapur toll plaza I have paid double charge for up and down Dear @nitin_gadkari i have tried to convence toll guy's but not able listen anything,” alongside screenshots of UPI payments.

     

    A user mentioned, "HDFC UPI servers are down since 5:30 PM. What is going on?" at 8:06 PM on X.
