New Delhi: According to the recent report from the health department, the nation has recorded 14,623 new COVID 19 infections. This takes the total number of cases to 3,41,08,996 in the country.
However, the percentage of active cases has reportedly declined. At present it stands at 1,78,098, which is the lowest in 229 days as per the data released by the Union Ministry of Health on Wednesday. At present, active cases stand at 0.52 per cent, which has been informed to be the lowest since March 2020.
The daily positivity rate stands at 1.10 per cent, which is less than 3 per cent in the last 51 days.

As far as deaths due to the virus are concerned, 197 fresh fatalities have been reported from across the country. This takes the total death tally to 4,52,651.
In terms of recovery from the virus, the national recovery rate has been recorded at 98.15 per cent. This is also the highest since March 2020.
When it comes to vaccination, at least 98.7 crore eligible people have received the first dose of the vaccine. Similarly, around 28.7 crore eligible beneficiaries have received both the shots of the vaccine. Overall, around 20.8 per cent of the population has been fully vaccinated in India.
