Digital Desk: In a very crucial development in the current investigation into the mysterious death of singer and heartthrob of Assam Zubeen Garg, the Chief of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and Special DGP of CID, Munna Prasad Gupta, briefed the media on Monday, 13th October and added that the investigation is being conducted at a very fast pace and in full compliance with the law.


Addresing the media people , Gupta disclosed that some of the most important personalities involved in the case have already been subjected to questioning and that more will follow in the next few days. “In the next two days, more people will arrive for questioning. There is also a possibility that one individual from Singapore will reach today,” Gupta stated.


Contrary to speculation before, Gupta made it clear that the post-mortem report will not be made public .The report is not going to be released at 4 PM tomorrow as rumoured. It will be filed directly into the court. The report is already made available to the SIT, he said, and that at this point of time it was necessary to avoid the leaking of information.


The CID Chief further informed that the SIT has sought official permission to travel to Singapore to pursue leads related to the case. A research is also underway in Singapore and all details required have been provided to them. When the permission is received the SIT will travel to Singapore to carry out further investigations, Gupta added.


He also noted that individuals currently in 14-day custody cannot be re-interrogated, as per legal guidelines. “The investigation is being guided by the expert committee’s report, and every procedural step is being followed meticulously,” Gupta affirmed.


Restating the transparency and the sense of justice that the CID has, Gupta promised that the inquiry will be unbiased and strictly within the precinct of law.


Reiterating the CID’s commitment to transparency and justice, Gupta assured that the investigation remains unbiased and firmly within the framework of law.
