With these, a total of 37 people have perished as a result of JE throughout the state since July.

Digital Desk: As many as 10 new cases of Japanese encephalitis (JE) were reported from all over Assam on Thursday, and two more people died from the disease.

According to a news statement from the National Health Mission, Assam, JE caused one death each in the last 24 hours in Golaghat and Darrang.

With these, a total of 37 people have perished as a result of JE throughout the state since July.

In addition, 10 new JE cases have been detected in Cachar, Golaghat, Hailakandi, and Nagaon, according to the release.

It is to be noted that since July 1 of this year, Assam has reported 236 total cases of JE, it noted.
