development, AJ Pharmacy located in Dharapur Chariali, Ajara has been
functioning unlawfully without any legal or confirmed documentation.
Nargis
Sultana, a student at the aforementioned college, revealed that she enrolled
there in 2020 during the COVID wave for the D Pharm Course. They were notified
by the authorities that they were enrolled at Srimanta Sankardev University
during the admissions period. Following enrollment, both sessional tests and
classes were delivered offline. Later, as the final exams were ready to begin,
the college administration notified the students that they needed to travel to
Bangalore to sit for the exams because they were registered under the Karnataka
Board.
The
students were airlifted to Banglore, where they had promised to provide
registration. However, it later turned out that no such registrations had been
made, and the college had not been registered with the Karnataka Board either.
The students, shocked, arrived back from Bangalore. When the students arrived
in Guwahati, they visited the institution. The college then promised to
compensate them, but all in vain since no money has been refunded till
date, she added.
Another
student claimed that despite having great expectations for the course and
anticipating job placement upon the completion of his D Pharm, all of his
expectations were crushed within a month. A student in the same programme
claimed that she was her family's only hope because her father had retired and
they had to pay rent and cover daily expenses. She had intended to join a
company after finishing her curriculum, but the fake university not only
shattered her dream, but it also cost her two valuable years and lakhs of
rupees. The course had a total enrollment of 160 students.
While
speaking to Prag News, students indicated that they would meet the
Education Minister and other pertinent higher officials. Ismail Hoque and other
victims argued that they needed both a full refund and compensation.
It
is now necessary to determine who will be held accountable for the irreparable
harm suffered by the hundreds of students. And how can a college be established
without any formal documentation? Everyone is free to think about the subject
completely. The appropriate authorities must move right away to penalise the
institution, impose severe sanctions on it, and take the required legal action.
