On October 2, numerous locations in Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon, and Dhubri were raided by the Assam Police.

Digital Desk: Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that more than 1,039 people were arrested on Tuesday as part of the state's second round of a crackdown against child marriage. 

Thousands of events took place all around the state during the drive's first round earlier this year. 

According to him, as long as the operation is ongoing, there will probably be more arrests in cases involving the social menace. 

Sarma reported to the Assam Assembly on September 11 that 3,907 persons had been detained in cases involving child marriages during the previous five years, 3,319 of them are now being prosecuted under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012).


On October 2, numerous locations in Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon, and Dhubri were raided by the Assam Police, according to sources.
 
In total, 24 persons were detained in Kokrajhar's Gossaigaon, Serfanguri, Kachugaon, and Bogoribari neighbourhoods. 39 individuals were detained in Bongaigaon, and 191 people were arrested in the Dhubri district.

With 42 arrests recorded in Golakganj, 7 in Agomoni, 12 in Tamarhat, 42 in Gouripur, 36 in Bilasipara, 11 in Sapatgram, and 6 in Chapar, Dhubri reported the most arrests.
