Led by the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the police department in collaboration with NGOs Sahyog (Care For You) and Young India, the initiative aimed to address the issue of child labour in the region.

Digital Desk: Authorities on Thursday in Noida conducted a campaign to eradicate child labour, resulting in the rescue of fifteen children employed in eateries, furniture shops, hotels, and other establishments, as confirmed by the police.

Led by the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the police department in collaboration with NGOs Sahyog (Care For You) and Young India, the initiative aimed to address the issue of child labour in the region.

According to official reports, the operation identified and rescued fifteen children engaged in labour activities across various locations in Sector 49, Baraula, and Sector 76 areas of Noida.

In efforts to deter families from exploiting their children for work, authorities communicated the importance of education and urged them to enroll their children in schools.

Furthermore, the police and partnering organizations pledged to provide free education to the rescued children, with the aim of fostering their development into responsible citizens contributing to the nation's progress.

This rescue operation follows a similar campaign on June 1, during which the Noida Police rescued fourteen children from similar circumstances.

Child labour in India is strictly prohibited under the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh has its own legislation, such as the UP Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986, complementing national efforts to combat child labour within the state.
