Their parents used to argue frequently over family matters, according to the police.

Digital Desk: In the Pilibhit area of Uttar Pradesh, two girls allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison on Sunday after a fight between their parents, police said.

The incident took place in the Puranpur police station area.

Circle Kashish (20) and Munni (18), daughters of local corporator Asim Raza, consumed poison on Sunday night, according to area officer Alok Singh. They were transferred to the local hospital, where they died while receiving treatment.

Their parents used to argue frequently over family matters, according to the police. On Sunday they also got into one of these fights. Their daughters were tired of this and thus, took the extreme step, police said.

The family first refused to allow the police to intervene in the case.

According to the CO, more police were stationed in the vicinity and the remains were transferred for post-mortem examination.
