Digital Desk: A 24-year-old pregnant woman was found hanging at her rented house in Lachit Nagar, Guwahati, on May 19, Monday.
When police arrived at the spot, they found the woman hanging in her apartment.
The deceased woman, identified as Karishma Das, who hailed from Azara, had been living in the apartment because of her work at a beauty parlour in Ulubari.
She was four months pregnant at the time of her death.
Karishma's family alleged that her husband, Mintu Kalita killed her. They said that it was a cold-blooded murder by Mintu.
According to them, the couple had been fighting with each other as things were not alright between them.
Thus, Mintu killed her and did not even inform Karishma's parents.
They said that Mintu was always under the influence of intoxicants and would frequently fight with his wife.
Karishma's family has now demanded stringent punishment for Mintu Kalita.
The Paltanbazar police have apprehended Mintu Kalita after the incident.
