Rana confirmed that the planning of 26/11 was overseen by the ISI in collaboration with Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, under the codename “Sura of Zaki.
Digital Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) currently interrogates Tahawwur Rana, who is being brought to India on 10th April from the United States, concerning his role in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Through his interrogations, Rana has disclosed volatile facts about connections between terror organizations across international borders and Pakistani ISI agents and extremist factions.
As per reports, Rana stated that the planning of 26/11 originated from ISI together with Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi through the code name “Sura of Zaki.” The direct relationship between terrorist organizations and state governments emerged through meetings that involved officials from LeT and ISI.
Rana also admitted to promoting extremist activities in Canada through the banned organization Markaz-ud-Dawat-wal-Irshad (MDI) that later became Jamaat-ud-Dawa linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Rana maintained connections with Pakistani terrorist Ilyas Kashmiri, who led HUJI 313 Brigade and served across Canada, India and Pakistan raised funds and recruiting members.
One of the most shocking revelations is Rana’s alleged involvement in plotting attacks on Chabad Houses and even the National Defence College in Delhi, operating as a "one-to-one sleeper cell" to evade surveillance. Legal authorities identify him as the sponsor of minimum five terrorists active in India together with his earlier financial support to David Headley.
Rana also admitted to directing David Headley in multiple reconnaissance missions that aimed at approximately 40–50 crucial sites within Mumbai, including army military bases, as well as Shiv Sena headquarters and Siddhivinayak Temple, and Chabad House.
NIA is now creating sketches of key handlers like Major Iqbal, Major Sameer , Abu Anas and multiple others. Digital forensic experts have retrieved essential email messages containing IDs such as rawsa1@hotmail.com that are currently under investigation.
