Digital Desk: At least three army soldiers were killed during a clash with terrorists in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The encounter began on Friday night based on specific information regarding the presence of terrorists in the Halan forests area. This was a joint operation conducted by the army and police.

As troops closed in on the terrorists, they came under with heavy firing. Three army soldiers were killed in the encounter.

The operation in the area is still ongoing, according to the Army's 15 Corps.

15 Corps Tweeted stating, "On specific inputs regarding presence of terrorists on higher reaches of Halan in Kulgam, operations launched by Security Forces on 04 Aug 23. In exchange for firing with terrorists, three personnel sustained injuries and later succumbed. Search operations are continuing."


The search operation has been stated, and troops have been sent to the area.
