Digital Desk: Three more people died in Assam due to Japanese Encephalitis in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 47. Seven new cases were reported in the state.
The National Health Mission reports that 294 cases of viral infection have been found in the state so far. According to the reports, there was one death each in Barpeta, Chirang, and Darrang.
Additionally, one case each from Bongaigaon, Charaideo, Darrang, Dibrugarh, and Kokrajhar, as well as two new cases from Jorhat, were recorded. All 32 of the state's districts, with the exception of South Salmara, Dima Hasao, and Karbi Anglong, are impacted by the illness.
Details show that Nagaon has the most cases (44), followed by Jorhat (39) and Golaghat (34).
All nine of the state's medical schools and 10 district hospitals have been prepared with ICU and laboratory test facilities due to the severity of the illness and its effects.
