Digital Desk: A chilling attempted murder has been reported in Salbagan, Hojai, where a 7-year-old boy was lured into a forest and brutally assaulted.
The victim, identified as Bibek Singh from Udaipur, Hojai, was reportedly enticed into the Salbagan forest by an unidentified individual under false pretenses.
Once isolated, the attacker committed a barbaric act, severing both of the child's ears to steal his gold earrings before attempting to slit his throat.
The perpetrator then fled into the dense forest after local residents, alerted by the commotion, rushed to the scene.
The child was immediately transported to the Hojai First Referral Unit (FRU) in critical condition, where medical professionals performed emergency procedures, including multiple stitches to his neck and ears.
The victim's family has lodged a formal complaint with the Hojai Police, and a rigorous investigation is currently underway to apprehend the perpetrator.
