Digital Desk: A shocking incident has been reported from Purba Merkuchi in Baksa district, where a woman was allegedly attacked by her husband, leaving her critically injured.
The victim, identified as Padumi Harijan, sustained severe injuries after being struck with a sharp weapon. She is currently battling for her life at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she is undergoing treatment.
According to initial reports, the incident is believed to have stemmed from a family dispute.
Meanwhile, the alleged accused husband, Santosh Harijan, has surrendered at Barama Police Station. Police have reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
