Three women who were brokers were apprehended by the authorities, along with five men.

Digital Desk:  Eight people including three women were detained for sexually abusing a little girl in Tamil Nadu's Karur. Child protection authorities started an inquiry after receiving a complaint about a young girl being sexually exploited.

A special squad was established after a complaint was filed with the Karur All Women police station. Three women who were brokers were apprehended by the authorities, along with five men.

According to police sources, Karthi (28), Karthikeyan (27), Santosh (30), Samuthirapandi (27) and Gowtham (30) sexually exploited the minor for nearly six months while Shanti (42), Meghala (42) and Maya (45) served as middlemen.

All eight suspects were charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) as a result of the inquiry.

Further investigations are underway.
