Digital Desk: Joburg Super Kings’ left-arm spinner, Aaron Phangiso, has been suspended from bowling in the Betway SA20 after the Independent Bowling Action Panel determined that his bowling action does not adhere to the regulations of a legitimate bowling action as outlined by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The panel, which was formed in accordance with the Betway SA20 Suspect Bowling Action Policy, issued its final findings on January 23. The assessment confirmed that Phangiso bowled with a non-compliant bowling action during the match between the Joburg Super Kings and the Pretoria Capitals on January 17 at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. As a result, he has been barred from bowling in Betway SA20 matches beginning on January 23rd.

The Joburg Super Kings have asked for Phangiso's action to be tested in a laboratory condition at an ICC Accredited Centre. If the ICC testing reveals that his action was legal, he will be permitted to continue bowling.

The Independent Bowling Action Panel consists of  Zama Ndamane, Vincent Barnes and  Vernon Philander.
