Digital Desk: The 53rd birthday of Assam's beloved cultural icon, Zubeen Garg, will be commemorated with a three-day celebration organised by the All Assam Students' Union (AASU).
The celebration began today, November 16, with an event titled "Rong Tulikar Edin" held at Nehru Park.
On November 17, AASU will plant saplings across the state to mark the occasion.
The final day, November 18, will feature a statewide human chain in the morning, followed by the lighting of earthen lamps in the evening.
Prominent AASU leaders, including chief advisor Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya, president Utpal Sarma, and general secretary Samiran Phukan attended the Nehru Park gathering on November 16.
During the event, AASU leaders expressed their sentiments, stating. "This is Zubeen Garg's first birthday without him. Unlike previous celebrations, this time it will not be celebrated in the same manner. Every family in the state is mourning. We must focus on the importance of justice. A strong charge sheet must be submitted by the SIT. Justice must prevail, and the guilty must face strict punishment."
