Digital Desk: Robbers took advantage of an empty house in Rongajan, Golaghat, to carry out a robbery, targeting an elderly woman who was alone at the time.
The incident occurred at the residence of Ganesh Baruah and Lakshimai Baruah, located near the Rongajan petrol pump.
During the robbery, the intruders blindfolded and tied the hands of the elderly woman, threatening her with a khukuri and issuing death threats to intimidate her.
They forcibly removed gold earring from her ears and subjected her to physical assault, causing injuries to her face, head and various parts of her body.
The elderly couple reported that the robbery was carried out by a group of three to four individuals.
