Digital Desk: Lovlina Borgohain, a bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, has entered the 36th National Games, which are now taking place in Gujarat.

Due to a minor nose injury sustained during the selection trials for the upcoming Asian Championships in Amman, the ace pugilist's participation in the National Games was not assured.

Lovlina is said to have landed in Gujarat for her match. The Boxing Federation of India has granted her special permission to enter the ring.

Olympian Simranjit Kaur, Commonwealth Games medalist Jaismine Lamboria, former World Championship medalists Saweety Boora and Jamuna Boro, and former World Youth Champion Ankushita Boro will be among the top female boxers competing at the National Games.
