The Son-in-law of Bharti Jaffery Kanwaljit Singh paid homage over social media.

Digital Desk: Actress Bharti Jaffery, the daughter of filmmaking legend Ashok Kumar, has died, according to her son-in-law, actor Kanwaljit Singh. Singh, who is married to Jaffery's actor-daughter Anuradha Patel, announced the veteran's death on social media on Tuesday.

"Our darling Bharti Jaffery, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, aunt, neighbour, friend, and inspiration passed away on 20 Sep (sic)," Kanwaljit Singh said on Instagram, alongside photos of Jaffery.

Her cause of death and age were not immediately confirmed.

Bharti Jaffery's film credits include Raveena Tandon's Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence, directed by Kalpana Lajmi in 2001, and the iconic 1990s TV serial Saans, in which she co-starred with Neena Gupta and son-in-law Kanwaljit Singh.

Singh stated in his post that Jaffery was cremated in the Cherai Crematorium in Mumbai's Chembur Camp.
