Majuli: Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi was in Majuli, attending Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s Majuli event on Sunday.

Chief Minister Sonowal inaugurated ‘Sahodar 2020-21’, a cultural exchange programme of different ethnic communities of the state at Jengraimukh in Majuli district on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi appreciated chief minister Sonowal’s various initiatives to make Majuli a carbon-neutral district.

Oberoi praised CM Sonowal and the people of Majuli for observing steps to maintain the natural ambience of the island which would set an example for the country. The actor also informed that under I-30 programme which is launched for grooming students for competitive examinations, steps would be taken to open around 30 centres in Assam.

During the programme, the actor also expressed his plans to make a movie on Lachit Borphukan in which almost 70 percent of the artists will be from Assam.
