Digital Desk: Writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla faced a lot of criticism after the release of the Prabhas film "Adipurush." After attempting to defend his writing and dialogue, the writer has now stated that writing the film was a bad idea and that he shouldn't have defended himself after the movie was released.

In an interview, Manoj stated that whatever mistakes were made in writing the film were not intentional. He said, “There is no doubt about it and I am not such an insecure person that I would defend my writing skills by saying that I have written well. It's a 100% mistake. Yes, I made a big mistake. But, there was not any bad intention behind that mistake. I had absolutely no intention of hurting the religion and causing trouble to Sanatan or to defame Lord Ram or to say something about Lord Hanuman ji which is not there."

He also stated that defending himself immediately after the release of the film was a mistake. "I believe that I should not have clarified when people were furious. This was my biggest mistake. It was not the right moment for me to speak. People's outrage is understandable if they are offended by my explanation. Since it was not the appropriate moment to clarify, and today I understand that mistake," he further added during his interview.

The writer further revealed that he had received death threats during that time, which also worried his family. He also stated that he had temporarily moved abroad for some time and waited for the controversy to fade away.

The way big-budget movie, which debuted in June of this year, was severely criticised for the way it represented the mythological characters - Raghav aka Ram, Janaki aka Sita and Raavan.

Its screenplay, VFX, dialogue, and directing were also criticized.
