Pubs in the city is only permitted to use loudspeakers to play music until 10 pm in accordance with the City Police Act and Noise Pollution Regulation and Control Act.

Digital Desk: The Telangana High Court ruled on Monday, September 12, in response to various petitions over concerns of nighttime noise that no music may be played in Hyderabad pubs after 10 p.m. The excise act forbids the operation of bars in residential areas and close to school zones, thus the court questioned how this was possible.

Additionally, the HC has directed the excise department to submit a reply to the petition.

The Telangana High Court made this declaration when it was deliberating over numerous petitions that criticized the increasing volume of nighttime noise after 10 o'clock.

No sound systems may be played inside bars between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., according to the court's interim decision. The Commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda were also sent notices by the HC to act on this matter.
