Digital Desk: The process of recruiting "Agniveers" from the northeastern states into the armed forces under the recently introduced Agnipath scheme has started in the northeastern states, officials informed on Tuesday. Defence Spokesman Lt Col Mohit Vaishnava said that an Army recruiting rally under the Agnipath Scheme would be organized for all districts of Manipur from September 7 to 23 at Bhagat Stadium, Rangapahar Military Station in Dimapur.

Candidates' mandatory online registrations will begin on July 5 and will last until August 3. The government has relaxed the age requirement for the current recruiting period by two years. According to the spokesperson, the programme also grants additional points to applicants who have degrees from government-recognized industrial training institutions.
