Digital Desk: Ahmed Aslam Ali, a Glasgow-based chef who claimed to have invented the well-known dish Chicken Tikka Masala, has died, a family member confirmed to AFP on Wednesday. He was 77. According to his nephew, Andleeb Ahmed, he passed away on Monday morning.
After Ahmed Aslam Ali's death was announced by the Facebook page for his restaurant, Shish Mahal, tributes to the chef who created one of Britain's national meals started to pour in.

In a 2009 interview with AFP, Ali stated that a customer's complaint that his chicken tikka was too dry inspired him to develop the Chicken Tikka Masala recipe.
