Digital Desk: The Lakhimpur police has significantly expanded their operation against a fake currency and counterfeit gold network, resulting in 13 arrests over the last 48 hours.

The crackdown reached a critical point during a tactical operation aimed at tracing additional suspects, where two accused individuals, Maksidul Alam and Matiur Rahman, were injured in a police encounter.

This major breakthrough follows the confession of Ajay Biswakarma, which provided the leads necessary to intensify the investigation.

In a series of targeted raids in Bangalmora, police apprehended three additional suspects: Ikramul, Mizanur and Hezibur. In a decisive move, authorities also arrested the suspected kingpin, Ainul Haque.

Haque's interrogation has uncovered crucial details regarding the syndicate's operations, including the smuggling of counterfeit currency into Guwahati and the inner working of the notorious "Ambani Gang."

The investigation has surfaced the names of Chattar Amin, Ikramul, and Khairul, all of whom are believed to have close links with Ajay Biswakarma.

As the scope of the investigation expands, police are now focusing on dismantling the broader Assam-interstate network.

A marathon operation remains underway to capture the ultimate mastermind and fully expose the fake currency empire operating across the region.

One arrest after another, the authorities continue their relentless pursuit to ensure the entire racket is dismantled.

The scope of the investigation in the fake currency case continues to expand.
