Gogoi stated he hopes that the new BJP government would review the current situation on priority...

Digital Desk: Citing the rising cost of airfares in India, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi attacked the Modi government for creating cartels and monopolies.

Taking to X, the Assam MP criticized the soaring charges, saying they were too expensive for the typical Indian visitor. He said that an average ticket from Guwahati to Delhi costs Rs 15,000.

Moreover, Gogoi stated he hopes that the new BJP government would review the current situation on priority.

He wrote, “Airfare prices are reaching new heights in India every day. As of today, a Guwahati-Delhi flight costs an average of Rs 15,000, Delhi-Chennai is Rs 10,000, Delhi-Srinagar is Rs 15,000, and Delhi-Jaipur is Rs 11,000. Air travel is increasingly out of reach for an average Indian traveller. This is a result of the monopolies and cartels created by the Modi government in various sectors. I hope the new BJP government reviews the situation on priority.”

The Assam MP had earlier claimed that the people of Assam voted against arrogance and hatred, citing Rahul Gandhi's visit to the state at the start of the year and his speech, "Nafrat ke bazar mein mohabbat ki dukan," at the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
