Akhil Gogoi claimed that Himanta Biswa Sarma will increase the value of the land that belongs to his family by constructing the bridges.

Digital Desk: Sivsagar MLA Akhil Gogoi stated that Himanta Biswa Sarma is constructing bridges in Assam to allegedly raise the value of his family's property.

But as of the time of his allegation, no proof has been provided to support this claim.

Speaking to the media, MLA for Sivsagar Akhil Gogoi stated, "Previously, the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government made big promises of building bridges over Brahmaputra, but now we have learned the bridges which will be built over the river will have toll gates so that he can take back the money from the public."

Further, Akhil Gogoi claimed that Himanta Biswa Sarma will increase the value of the land that belongs to his family by constructing the bridges.

He continued, "The land beneath the bridges, which will be built throughout Assam, belongs to Himanta Biswa Sarma...and with these bridges, the price of those properties will go."

On September 28, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that citizens will have to pay tolls for new bridges being built over the Brahmaputra River while attending an event sponsored by the Assam Government's Transport Department.

To traverse the newly built Brahmaputra bridges from Sadiya to Dhubri, which will be built over the river, people will need to pay a toll fee.

The newly constructed Brahmaputra bridges that will be connected by national highways, according to the chief minister, would be subject to tolls. With the intention of collecting taxes, the state government made this choice.

CM Sarma stated, "You must pay toll tax to the government in order to cross through the new bridge of the recently constructed Brahmaputra; otherwise, passengers will have to go by boat."
